The fact is that the WHO Supervisory Commission today issued an official report in which it indicated its interest in carefully and fully monitoring such developments in the territories of as many world countries as possible – and for this purpose proposed the creation of a single monitoring register where they will be monitored various officially authorized experiments and operations on manipulation of the human genome.
Moreover, according to the results of statistical and practical research, the representatives of the WHO Commission decided to launch the so-called ICTRP platform – the International Clinical Testing Platform, the main purpose of which will be monitoring, control and intervention in various experiments of genetic engineering and medicine, where there is a theme work with the human genome. On the one hand, this is becoming an excellent optimization tool, and on the other hand, it can give rise to many institutional problems.
First of all, specialists in the field of genetic engineering and medicine note the fact that working in this format will inevitably lead to a bureaucratic and ethical complication of the implementation of such projects – since WHO will clearly intervene in the vast majority of such projects. However, for now it remains only to wait for the release of a more detailed and detailed planned report on the formation of such a monitoring platform.
