The healing properties of sea fish

More recently, another prostate cancer prevention agent has been discovered, bestowed by nature itself – sea fish.

It was found that men who regularly eat it, rarely develop prostate cancer, while today it is detected in almost every 6-7th men of mature and elderly age. This fact served as a pretext for conducting research at the molecular-genetic level, which would explain the mechanism of such anti-cancer effects of marine fish.

Omega-3 fatty acids in the prevention of prostate cancer

The secret of sea fish in cancer prevention ended up being revealed. It consists in the high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids in its meat, in particular, omega-3. It is they who are recognized by scientists as a result of the research, the main protective factors against the development of prostate cancer.

Omega-3 polysaturated fatty acids are the following acids: alpha-linolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid, and decosahexaenoic acid, which are most often found in fish oil.

Scientists under the guidance of Professor Catherine Meyer, conducting research with the culture of prostate cancer cells, came to the conclusion that it is eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) that binds the protein receptor FFA4 molecules, which "gives the command signal" to the development and reproduction of cancer cells. As a result, the growth and development of a cancer tumor is blocked.
