The National Institute of Heart, Lungs and Blood in the United States has recently sponsored quite a bit of research on a new type of diet called DASH – designed to formulate a fairly useful and long-term diet to reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. A new study that came straight from the American Heart Association showed that systematic consumption of the DASH diet actually reduces this risk – but at the same time offers some additional health benefits, such as reduced cholesterol, blood pressure, and risk. development of chronic heart or vascular diseases.
The new study mainly focuses on the study of how the complete or partial rejection of red meat, foods with sugar and salt can improve the long-term physical condition of a person – namely, these products are considered the main enemies of the DASH-diet. Based on a database of more than 4,500 people under the age of 75, experts conducted a new meta-analysis of the comparative type and found that the absolute majority of adults and elderly people significantly reduce the risk of developing chronic cardiovascular diseases and a number of other diseases due to the use of this diets.
Moreover, in a third of the patients analyzed, even with partial abandonment of the above-mentioned hazardous products, there is a significant improvement in blood pressure, even in comparison with many other diets – and this is the root cause of maintaining a fairly low risk of developing any cardiovascular disease. In addition, it allows you to keep cholesterol levels normal.
It is worth noting that so far the preliminary results in fact demonstrate an enviable success in terms of the effectiveness of the new modification of the DASH-diet, which is predominantly rich in whole-grain crops, poultry, fish and low-fat products.
