  • BC residents under the age of 19 are covered annually by their Medical Service Plan

For best vision and eye health we recommend the following:

  • first examination for children at age 1 year
  • all children an eye examination annually
  • contact lens wearers annually
  • adults every 1 to 2 years depending on history
  • diabetic patients every 6 months
  • seniors annually
Why: early detection of conditions such as amblyopia, cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration means best outcomes

If your eyes don’t “look well, feel well or see well” you need to come in for an eye health examination to diagnose the underlying cause of your symptoms.  At our office we will use our bio-microscopes and retinal imaging to diagnose and record your eye health and as necessary we will prescribe antibiotics, steroids, eye-drops or book an appointment with a specializing ophthalmologist depending on the diagnosis.  If you experience sudden flashes of light or floaters, pain or visual disturbances please contact us as soon as possible.

Contact Lens Health Exam:

Current contact lens wearers
  • yearly exam to evaluate eye health, determine the best vision and maximum comfort
Customized Contact Lens Diagnosis:
  • initial contact lens examination and follow-up to determine the best design, type and power of  contact lenses, wearing schedule and care which will maintain eye health while giving maximum comfort and the best vision possible

Laser Eye Correction:

  • initial consult determine for suitability and options for laser eye surgery with assessment of  prescription, eye health, cornea shape and thickness & eye co-ordination
Post Operation Care
  • to ensure the best outcome for laser eye surgery, co-managing with the surgeon and repeat visits are necessary to monitor healing and medication

Special Testing:

  • including visual field testing, retinal photography of internal eye health, corneal thickness measurement, and eye pressure

Emergency Services:

  • emergency eye exams, frame repairs and contact lens exams

Lifetime Eyewear Adjustments and Maintenance:

  • No appointment necessary; if your eyeglasses or sunglasses are not fitting properly, we are happy to adjust them for our patients free of charge
  • Replacement of lost nosepads or screws are a service we offer to patients for no fee
