A group of scientists from Barcelona, after a series of clinical studies, concluded that green plantings (trees, bushes, flowers) favorably influence the development of a child. In particular, clinicians note that such an “environment” has a positive effect on the work of the brain and the development of cognitive abilities in particular.
In clinical studies, data from 253 schoolchildren were analyzed. Experts conducted a survey using magnetic resonance imaging, as well as participants underwent tests for attentiveness and determination of the level of intellectual abilities. In addition, by means of diagnostic measures, it was found that children, in whose territory there is a sufficient amount of green space, have more gray and white matter in the brain. This is what leads to improved memory, reduced inattention.
Scientists who conducted the research suggest that this situation may be due to the fact that plants have a positive effect on the child’s psyche, which can stimulate the development of a child’s creative abilities. In addition, it is noted that in such areas a more favorable ecological situation, and this also has a positive effect on the child's well-being.
